Fern had the following children with the indicated husband:

FERN AND GEORGE BARTRUM had one child - THELMA GRACE BARTRUM.  

• Thelma was born Nov 2, 1905, and passed away Jun 23, 1973 in Burbank, CA.

• Married CHARLES ("CHUCK") BERKLEY SCHISEL who was born , Feb 14, 1907, and died Dec 2, 1999. They lived much of their life at 138 S Lamer Street, Burbank, CA.  After THELMA passed away, Chuck married Helen R. Avers on July 6, 1974.

• Chuck last resided in HEMET, CA with his second wife, HELEN.

• Children:

  •  CHARLES ("BUDDY") BERKELEY SCHISEL, JR - married Becky, and then divorced and remarried Karin L Zuelke in 1978 in Nevada.  

    • Buddy and Becky had four children with Becky:

      • Charlene Sadler (nee Schisel)

      • Terry

      • Stephen

      • A girl who was killed in an accident 

     

  •  FERN BARBARA SCHISEL- Fern married Edwin Howard Troutner who was born on September 28, 1929 and passed away on July 6, 2018 in Newhall, CA.

    • Fern and Eddie had three (3) children

      • James Troutner (who married Diane and lives in Oakhurst, CA)

      • Timothy Neal Troutner

      • Kathryn Borgese (nee Troutner)

         

FERN AND ALEXANDER KARNBACH had three children:

(1) RAYMOND ANTON KARNBACH

• Born October 28, 1913 in Los Angeles, and died  July 1968.
• Married ELEANOR M KARNBACH (nee BRIGGS)
  • ELEANOR was born  on April 26, 1914 and died IN OREGON on August 16, 2004

  • CARL RAYMOND (JIMMY) KARNBACH
    • Born August 27, 1935, and died September 9, 1993.  Jimmie had two children

  • RICHARD LEE KARNBACH
    • Born June 9, 1937, and died Sept. 6, 2013.
    • He was married to HANNAH, then after that divorce, he remarried SHARON SUE EVANS.  Sue (as she was called) had three sons and one daughter with her former spouse, Everett Evans.
    • Richard and Hanna had (4) children Rick, Robby and twin boys who died shortly after birth - Rusty and Randy
    • Richard and Sue we believe had two (2) children - (this is being checked out by KENNETH KARNBACH with whom I am in contact).
    • Sue preceded Richard in dead, passing away on 9/7/2012.
  • PAULINE FAYE EARLE (nee KARNBACH)
    • Born September 16, 1942
    • Died July 14, 2011.
    • Married Charles “Chuck” Earle on Aug. 13, 2005, in Brookings.  She was previously married to Bob Alvarez.  At the time of her death, she was living in Central Point, Oregon.
    • Pauline had three children:
      • Cheryl Stokely Lossinger, a daughter who died before her;  Cheryl appears to have had four children - one of whom was a daughter named CAMEO.  Cameo appears to have married a man named O'DELL.  They had a least three kids - CRISPIN, SAGE and GAGE.
      • Tom Stokely, son, of Arizona;
      • Bambi Stokely of California.    Bambi had a daughter, Bridgett, that Pauline and her husband adopted at the time of her birth in 2001.  After Pauline died, it appears Bridgett was adopted by a family member who attended their church.

  • KENNETH ROBERT KARNBACH
    • Born February 10, 1945. He married Sharon Ellen (last name unknown) on 5-23-81.  Ken and his family moved to Oregon in 1983 and resides in Rogue River.
    • Ken had three children with his first wife:  Kenny who lives in Oceanside CA, & Brenda and Todd who live in Medford, Oregon
    • Ken and Sharon were together for over 30 years! Sharon passed away March 20, 2014 after an 11-year courageous battle with cancer.
  • DIXIE ANN KARNBACH
    • Born August 23, 1949 and died June 22, 1982 from hepatitis.
    • Dixie married RICHARD JOSEPH VARELA (who was born on November 3, 1944) on August 3, 1965. Richard passed away on April 6, 2021 from cardiopulmonary arrest.  He had courageously battled pulmonary fibrosis for 1 1/2 years.
    • Dixie had four (4) children:
      • Kimberly Ann Varela-Loza, born December 31, 1967, and married Armand Gene Loza on 2/14/87.  They have four (4) children: Alecia Marie Loza, born 9/14/87; Breanna Renee Loza, born 11/24/91; Kyle Gene Loza, born 3/9/94; and, Madison Dixie Loza, born 8/23/08.
      • Stephanie Ann Varela-Riddle (who was born November 24, 1970, and current married (on March 31, 2000) to MATHEW BURTON RIDDLE.  Stephanie has a son Justin Clifton Morse, born February 14, 1992 [from her first marriage to Shawn Michael Morse])
      • Michelle Varela-Shelley (who contacted me in May, 2012 - and we continue to be in contact), born October 15, 1973, and married CHRISTOPHER LEIGH SHELLEY on May 6, 1995.  Their children are: Caitlyn Nichole Shelley, born November 1, 1995, and Christian Michael Shelley, born March 18, 2000. Christopher passed away on April 16, 2021 after a long battle with COVID 19.  Caitlyn gave birth to her first child - a little girl named Denlyn Grace McGaskey on November 30, 2020.
      • Richard (Richie) Joseph Varela II, born January 21, 1975, and married JEANNE LYNNE ANDERSON-VARELA on May 11, 1996.  Their children are: Ryan Joseph Varela, born July 7, 1994; Joshua Joseph Varela, born May 10, 1997; and Cecelia Rose Varela, born July 15, 2002.
  • RAYMOND  ("RAYMOND JR.") ALLEN KARNBACH
    • Born January 19, 1954 and died in June 6, 1986 in an automobile accident. 
    • Ray was married to Debbie Karnbach. 
    • Ray and Debbie had two (2) children:
      • A son, Shawn Karnbach
      • A daughter, Deana Karnhach
    • He had challenges with seizures following a serious skateboard accident when he was younger.

(2)  MARJORIE ELIZABETH NORTON (nee KARNBACH)

• Born September 29, 1921 in Los Angeles, CA and passed away on September 19, 2019 at the Methodist Hospital in Arcadia CA.  She had been living in Pasadena CA.  Her memorial service was held on September 27, 2019 at Forest Lawn, Glendale, CA.  She is buried there with her late husband, Richard Edwin Norton.  Marjorie spent many years working in Quality Control for Jantzen Incorporated.  Then she spent over 20 years volunteering at Arcadia Methodist Hospital in charge of the medical library. • Married RICHARD EDWIN NORTON on June 19, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. Richard passed away on 9/10/2002 at Arcadia Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, CA.  Richard and his late brother, Leigh, grew up in Los Angeles, attending Belmont High School and UCLA.  He lived at 921 Maltman Avenue, Los Angeles, CA (Silverlake area).  Richard was a WWII veteran (U.S. Army) where he received a field commission as a Second Lieutenant in charge of a field hospital in the Philippines.  After discharge, he worked for many years for the Veteran's Administration as the registrar for the Sawtelle Veteran's Hospital in West Los Angeles.  He then transferred to the IRS in Los Angeles where he was the Program Manager in the Examination Division until his retirement in 1979.  Richard received the Secretary of  U. S. Treasury Award for his distinguished service.  Richard and Marjorie lived for many years at their first home at 4993 Vincent Avenue, Los Angeles, CA (Eagle Rock).  They moved in the 60's to their final home at 455 S Northcliff Road, Pasadena, CA.  He is buried at Forest Lawn, Glendale, CA.
• Children:
  • RICHARD EDWIN NORTON, JR, born in June 1944 in Los Angeles, CA.  Richard retired from the U.S. Treasury Department, and currently runs his tax controversy resolution company.
    • RICHARD married PAMELA CHERYL FULLER in February 1967.  Pam retired after spending many years working for the Burbank Unified School District.
    • RICHARD and PAMELA have three children:
      • David Matthew Norton, born in 1968 (who married Lisa Storey, and have two (2) children - Brianna and Kristin)
      • Chris Raymond Norton, born in 1970 (who married Cindy Amundson and had two (2) children - Devin and Stephen; then Chris married Christina Gunn, and adopted three baby girls over several years - Hannah, Sophie, and Roxie..
      • Debra Jean Van Horn (nee NORTON), born in 1987 who married to JAMES RICHARD VAN HORN on February 28, 2016.  Their wedding trailer video can be seen here.  They have two sons - Kaden  Hayes Van Horn born on April 20, 2018 at Providence St Joseph in Burbank, and a second son, Colton James Van Horn, born May 14, 2021 at Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles.

(3)  KARL KARNBACH

• Born January 22, 1912 and died December 16, 1987.
• He lived for many years in Manhattan Beach, CA, then moved to Westchester, California (near LAX).
• He was married to MAGDALENE "NICKI" KARNBACH.  She was born March 7, 1913 and died in March 1983.
• Karl and Nicki had no children.  Karl worked most of his life for Standard Oil (subsequently became Chevron Oil) in Manhattan Beach.
