Name: Alicia Comments: I come every year by the house. I love it!! You guys
do such a great job! Every year I look for the newest thing because it seems
like every year there is a new thing up. I love this house so much u deserve
all the credit u can get! I can't imagine doing this - it would be too hard
for me! I will be by a lot more times before New Years!!! Maybe I will see
ya sometime when u are outside or something! Thanks for the nice comments,
Alicia! We are pleased that you enjoy the display - that is why we do
it - to bring joy to folks over the holidays! It would be great
to meet you in person - we do "hang out" in front of the display at times
during the evenings, so keep watch for us! Merry Christmas! Name: Gary & Pauline Stetler Comments: Great site! Thanks for stopping by and
sharing your comments! We wish you both a Merry Christmas and a
Prosperous New Year. Name: Bill Denney Comments: Dick, it's always great to visit your site (sort of a Christmas
tradition). I've been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, so we moved this
fall from Vancouver, WA to Illinois to be close to some of our
grandchildren. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Merry Christmas, Bill - and thanks for stopping by
the website. I am so sorry to hear about your illness, and will be
praying for your recovery. Keep in touch!! Name: sheila and john james Comments: looks great dick keep up the great work
Merry Christmas to you both
and all the James family! Thanks for stopping by the website and for
your nice comments! They are appreciated. We hope you will have
the opportunity to drop by this holiday season and see the display in
person. Name: Ellen Comments: LOVE your display! We'll be there tonight with friends
who moved here from up north. It'll really get us and the kids into the
holiday spirit! Thanks for the feedback,
Ellen! We hope you enjoy the display in person - and be sure to check
out the display a few doors away up the street - it is very beautiful as
well! Happy Holidays! Name: Chris P Comments: Tell Joan and Bill I said Hello! Hi Chris! Thanks for
stopping by the website. I will certainly pass your greeting on
to Joan and Bill [our neighbors across the street}. They did a
beautiful job decorating their home this year! They are a great family
and asset to our community. Happy Holidays! Name: Angel3 Comments: Wow!! Your X-mas display is really beautiful!! I can
only imagine what it must be like standing in front of it. Have a very
Merry X-mas and a fantastic New Year!! xx Angel3 Hi Angel3! You are a
LONG WAY from Burbank, USA - and we are so pleased that you could enjoy the
display from so far away! Thanks for the compliment - and we hope that
some day you will be able to see it in person! Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year to you as well! Name: rebecca castellanos Comments: I am John James' granddaughter. Linda is my mom and I remember your
house from when I was a little girl. I also remember your haunted
house, too! I love the decorations. Happy holidays to you and your family.
Hi Rebecca! Wow - it
has been a LONG TIME since we have seen you or Linda! The haunted
house brings back fond memories. It is so neat that you
dropped us a line. Please try to come by this holiday season to
see the display in person. We'd love to see you again, too!
Merry Christmas to you, Linda and the rest of your family! Name: Bren LaRoque Comments: I live only blocks from this display and am excited to
have the opportunity to view it several times during the season. Thanks for
sharing Burbank, CA with everyone with the addition of the webcam. Happy Holidays, Bren!
Thank you for your comments. The webcam seems to have been a real hit
this year. We enjoy watching visitors grab their cell phone,
dial a relative or friend in a far away place (like New York), and then
after a short time begin waving madly at the webcam! The camera picks
up their voice, too! We're so glad you enjoy the
display. If you noticed, the entire block is lit up more than any other
block I have seen in Burbank! It is so great that everyone is getting
into the spirit of the season. Name: Richard Denney Comments: Just what I expected! More great things from you in your
display. Glad to see Hi Richard!
Great to hear from you - and thank you for your comments! I look
forward to hearing from your extended family and kin. Have a
great Holiday Season! Name: Jay Patch Comments: I can't tell you how much I enjoy your display! It is
the most creative that I have seen! The best displays are those that are
actually built rather than purchased. Your display as well as your neighbor
Keith's are truly amazing! One day I plan to see them in person! Your
efforts are truly appreciated! Thank you. Name: Melissa Comments: This is crazy! In class we look at a house that's decked
out for the holidays everyday, and my aunt who lives in Burbank sent me your
site a couple of years ago. So, now I'm sending it off to my teacher so we
can look at it in class! Keep up the Great work Thank you Melissa for the
great comments! I hope your class enjoys the website as much as you
do! Happy Holidays! Name: Harvey Garte Comments: Beautiful! Happy Holidays to you and your
family. May the new year bring peace, happiness and health to all. Thanks for visiting the site and the nice
comments, Harvey! We wish you and your family a great holiday
season as well. Name: David Norton Comments: What can I say, but that my father has caught the magic
of the spirit found only in Christmas. For some 35+ years now, I have had
the blessed opportunity to learn from the master of exterior illumination
how to take what lies within your heart and display it proudly on your front
yard! Every year at this time, my heart fills with deep
memories of my dad and I putting up the Christmas Display together. I now
have taken that incredible experience and shared it with my wife and two
daughters. Every year I hear, "Dad, are we going to put out more lights this
year?" Well, we are decorating our home again in honor of our
Lord and Savior and in honor of my parents' tradition. Dad and Mom, thank
you for pouring out your hearts to your children and to the world through
your love for our Lord. The Word of God says, Jesus is a light unto our
path...and you are now His light to thousands across the United States.
Thank you for all those years of saying yes to celebrating Christmas when it
could have easily been said "not this year David." May God continue to bless you both and your hard work on
making known the true story of Christmas through your home. I love you, we
love you! What a great post! Thanks for
sharing this, David. Yes, we have had some great times as a family
putting on this display since the early 70's. It is great to see you,
Lisa and the family carrying on the family tradition with your own beautiful
display in Quartz Hill (42446 56th Street West). Thanks again for all
the help on the weekend of 11/18/06 - we made great progress. We
love you all. Mom and Dad, and Debbie, too!
Name: Matilda Yarbrough I just love the holiday season, so that tells you what I think about
this sight. IT IS FABULOUS Thanks for sharing your post,
Matilda! Name: Jack Thompson I am into heavy decorating as well, but I have some distance to go to match
your display! Awesome. Hope to see it in person some
day. Name: Sandy Wasson Wow! Referred by Jeff Freedman's Oxy Class Notes column! Thanks for stopping by, Sandy!
We have plans to expand the display for Christmas 2006. All I have to do
is figure out where to get more power! Hope you get to see it in person. Name: Clare Karnbach Todd Wilde This is an amazing site. Your Mom has been telling me about it for
years, but I've never gotten around to visiting it!! Fabulous!!! Hi Clare! What a pleasant
surprise to have you visit the site! It has been too long since we have
seen each other. I hope you have an opportunity to visit us in Southern
California over the holidays and see it in person! Love, Dick Name: Cousin Jan Alexander It is always fun to see what you are doing each Christmas.
One of these days, we will make it down there to see it for ourselves.
What a wonderful community service. It surely must bring a special
Christmas joy to your neighborhood. Jan Hi Jan! Thanks for stopping
by the website! Pam and I hope you will have an opportunity to see the
display in person one of these days! Our street really is decorated
for the holidays each year - including another beautiful display just a few
doors away. Have a great 2006! Love, Dick Name: Gutierrez Family I shared this site with my co-workers. Later today we
will be driving past your beautiful winter wonderland. Thank you for your comments!
We hope you get the opportunity to see it in person. Be sure to sign
Santa's guest book at the corner of the display. Merry Christmas!!! Thanks for years of enjoyment! We always drive down
your street many times during the Christmas season. Thanks for explaining how
and why your display is changing. I'm sure your son is thrilled to adopt
some of the pieces. We're looking forward to watching the digital display
evolve! Be sure to add a photo of your daughter Debbie on this site!!! Joan Santon Thanks, Joan, for your comments!
This is our first year with the new display. It is tough to replace 30+
years growth of a past display in just one year - but I believe we are off to a
great start. Next year, our plan is to have the Ferris wheel and
Merry-go-round back - in digital animation! Have a Merry Christmas! Name: Wilber Denny
I am not a Christian, but accidentally found your website. I love it so
much. I enjoy the Christmas decorations. Well done. I love your displays. A few months back you had a company listed from California that sold products to make items move...If you can send me the links, I would appreciate it very much. I want to make things myself next year.
Thanks,
Dennis Thanks, Dennis. The company is
Minarik Corporation. They sell the Bodine gear motors. Find them at
www.minarik.com. They have many
locations across the U.S. Hartford CT may be the closest to you. We come every year to see your home and we make our humble offering to your power bill.
Thank you for all of the work you do!
Thank you, Jillian, for visiting
our display - and for your donation. This new display was quite expensive
(and time consuming). It has ended up using MORE power than our last
display! So, we really appreciate your generosity! Merry Christmas! Hi,
This is really neat. Saves us a 200 mile round trip and overnight stay at the Hilton for $200. This website is super. And that goes for the subject. Your display is super great!!
And we will see you guys Friday. I'm hungry already.
Ken & Rosemary Thanks for the feedback! We are looking
forward to seeing you on the 9th! Merry Christmas from our home to yours. Hey, your web page keeps getting better and better.
I love it! It gives true meaning and a warm feeling to everyone who sees it, not to mention it tells the real meaning of
Christmas! Great job! I hope this new display is better than the last - so far so good. Well,
I'll see you later!
Love u guys! Bri Norton
11/26/05 Thanks, Bri, for stopping by the website and for
your great comments! We still have more to add to the display, so stay
tuned!!
Ans: Hi Lisa! Thanks for stopping by the
website! We look forward to seeing you over the holidays!
Ans: Hi Mara. Thank you for stopping by
- and for the link. We will be sure to check it out!
Loving,
Keijo in Sweden
Ans: Amen!
Ans: Thank you, Sheri! We so appreciate
the wonderful comments from guests like you who take a moment to share their
thoughts after visiting our website. We just discovered your beautiful home this year! I stumbled across it on my way from picking up my 3 year old daughter from pre-school. From then on we had a new route to get home! Thanks to your family for sharing the wonderful holiday of Christmas with our family. The best to you all in the New Year!!
Ans: Hi Fannie.
Thanks for taking the time to write us! We wish you and your family a
Happy and Prosperous New Year as well! Ans: Thanks, Eileen. You
were fortunate to have the opportunity to view this current display as this was
its final year. We will begin construction of our new display in January.
This will be a BIG project, but we are looking forward to next Christmas. Ans: Hey guys, great to hear from
you! I'm glad you caught us on TV - I assume HGTV. We wish all of
you a Happy New Year. Ans: Hi Cousin Charlene!
Thanks for stopping by the website! We missed seeing you in person this
year. Happy New Year to you and the family! Dick, have enjoyed your displays the past couple of years, looking forward to your new presentation Christmas 2005. I know it will be great.
Richard Denney Ans: Thanks Richard!
I've truly enjoyed your great websites! Our family wishes yours a very
Happy New Year, and a Prosperous 2005! This was truly inspirational. I loved being reminded of this joyous time of our
Savior's birth through the glorious display of light and animation. God Bless you and your family for sharing such joy with the community.
Thank you. Ans: Thank you, Gene, for taking
a moment to sign our guestbook. While we are going to change our
ground-level display, the roof - designed to remind us all of the reason why we
celebrate Christmas - will remain unchanged. Happy Holidays! Thank you for putting up such incredible display and for sharing with all!
I first heard about it last week on a local radio station.
My family and I will surely enjoy seeing it this weekend.
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Ans: Thanks Michelle.
I hope you can see it by Saturday night. Sunday is looking "iffy" because
of the change in the weather forecast. We don't want to put it away "wet,"
so some of the items will be brought in for protection.
Ans: Thanks for your comments, Wilbur!
Merry Christmas. What a beautiful site!!! Cant wait to see it in person. Mr & Mrs Norton, we are friends with your son David.
He directed us to this site. Gary and I attend Quartz Hill Foursquare Church with David, Lisa & the girls. We also help David with Christian Skate Night every
Monday. God Bless you for everything you do to help "brighten up" others Christmas's each year.
In His Precious Name,
Merry Christmas 2004.
Sheri Richardson Ans: Dear Sheri and Gary!
Thanks so much for signing the guest book. I called David to mention that
you both stopped by the web site. I hope you both can make it here by
Saturday night as it may possibly be the last night of operation for this
season. The display has been running since December 3 - one of the longest runs
in the display's history (thanks to a string of great weather days). But,
it appears the good weather is ending soon. Merry Christmas to you both!
I visited in person on the 16th and shared your website with my daughters. They were very impressed. Now, we will look forward to watching the progress over the years online. Thanks this is awesome. Ans: Thank you so much for
the great comments! As you may have read, we are making some major changes
to the display for 2005 - moving from analog/mechanical attractions to digital.
As we finish the attractions for the new display, we'll be posting pictures (and
maybe some movies of the animation) on this website during 2005. So,
please bookmark it and check back occasionally for updates. Merry
Christmas. We love visiting your house. Every year, it's fun to see what is new in the display. We thank you so much for doing this for the community. Have a wonderful
Christmas.
Ans: Thanks - and Merry Christmas to all of
you in beautiful Georgia. Thank you for the nice display of lights your family does every year for everybody.
My family comes every year to see the lights. Merry Christmas to you and your family and my
God bless you all. Judy Hawkins. Ans: We are so pleased that
you shared how much the display means to you! This kind of feedback is
what gives us the drive to continue the labor and expense of doing this every
year. Merry Christmas to you and the family, Judy! Why would you sell off your display? This has been a part of
Burbank for 30 years!! It is so sad to see it broken up like that :( It just won't be the same around here at Christmas time. Now other people will own it and the magic will be broken up. Please don't sell off your display!!! I want to be able to bring my kids over to see it when I have some. Don't end something that is so good please!!!! Think about it!!!!!
Ans: Thanks for the
feedback, Mike. We really appreciate how much it has meant to you.
Selling this display was not an
easy decision for us. We have really enjoyed having this display be a part
of Burbank's history. But, we no longer have the help we used to have for the
massive effort required to assemble - and then disassemble and store - this
display. So, we have sold most of the items already (it's a done
deal....), and are already planning the next display. I'll try to have
progress pictures on this website as the attractions are built between January
and November, 2005. It should be unique in concept and feature lots of
electronic animation! Ans: Thanks, Chris. We're
having a lot of visitors to our home express their sadness that the display is
ending with this year. But as I remind them - we will still have a display
- just a different type! We're already planning it and will begin its
construction early next year! Ans: Thanks, Boz.
Please ring the doorbell when you come over if we are not out front. The
best to you and the family for this holiday season! Ans: Thank you, Diana!
Even though the display will change, the site will still be here! Of
course, we will be adding information and pictures of the new display.
Happy Holidays to you and your mom! Ans: Hi Phil. Thanks for
stopping by the web site! Bodine is a great company - and their gear
motors are still running the Ferris Wheel, Hammer and Flying Swings. I
recently restored the links to Bodine and Minarik Corporations on the home page. Merry Christmas to you, Roni and
the kids! Ans: Thanks so much for the
feedback, Bob! Your comments of appreciation give us the drive to do this
year after year. Merry Christmas!
Ans: Thanks! We just heard yesterday (11/26)
that HGTV was broadcasting re-runs of their last year's special program that
featured our display! We hope other folks will have an opportunity to see
it. Ans: In California -
many years ago! Ans: We love you guys right back! Have a
great Holiday Season and we hope you can make it over to our neck of the woods
this Christmas Season to see the display in person! Ans: Ha ha. Yes, we
have been accused of going a bit far with our decorations! But remember
that our display is an accumulation of many, many years of work. Thanks
for the feedback - and Merry Christmas to you as well! Ans: You should not let a little thing like
1,200 miles keep you from trekking to California to see the display! Hey,
just think - you can thaw out in our mild winter weather (very much unlike
Oklahoma at that time of year)!! Have a great Holiday Season, Henri! Pam -
you have an incredibly talented family! I have enjoyed viewing your web site and next year I will definitely drive by in person to see all of yout work. Thanks for sharing this with me.
Kelley Dickson Ans: Hi Jen! Glad you had the
opportunity to visit the site. Ans: Thanks, guys! You do a great job of
decorating each year and add much to the beauty of our block. Happy
Holidays! Name: Terry Routh (Coffeemartian)
We heard of your site from Richard Denney (our great grandmother was Parthenia Denney). We caught your display on HGTV and loved the display. Congratulations on a beautiful gift to your community and for sharing it with all of us across the country.
Dean and Judy Ackerman Received your information from Richard Denney. My Grandfather Virgil Wamsley's grandmother was Nancy Denney. She was married to Andrew Gould and their daughter Nancy Gould married Benjamin Franklin Wamsley my Great-grandparents.
I, too, am one of the Denny clan. I do genealogy a lot. Enjoyed your site. Have a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. Frances
I didn't have a chance to look at all the other comments, I guess I need to go through this site to read them. Hopefully I will recognize some of the names. Thanks again and for being so wonderful to my son! Eric, Mischel and family.
Ans: Hi Cousin! Yes, it would be
great if you and the family could visit us over the holidays. Have a great
Christmas and Prosperous New Year! Comments: Thank you for letting us enjoy your Christmas spirit. Your house is just beautiful. I was able to see it last year in person and loved it. My son Eric Mischel and family drove me by your house. He has since moved to Georgia near me and I am loving every minute of it. He does miss Burbank very much and misses seeing all the lights that Burbank tends to display. Thank you for people like you that go to the extent to please all of us and we thoroughly do. I use to live right down the street from you years ago. 1115 N. Catalina St. Patti Kelly
Ans: Hi Patti! Thank
you so much for the kind words and feedback! We hope you have an
opportunity to visit our fair city during a future Christmas Holiday season and
see the display! Our family wishes you and your family a Very Merry
Christmas and a Prosperous New Year! Another Denney descendant here (my maternal grandfather's mother was a Denney). Yes, Richard
is a sparkplug.
Enjoyed reading about your display. Sometimes
things take on a life of their own. And that's
not always bad, as you've shown.
Merry Christmas.
Steve Parsons
P.S. My website is about the "real" Saint
Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, for those interested. Love your display and for sharing it with so many. I am a descendant of the Denney family.
My father is a Warnock. Will be watching hgtv show - love that channel. Merry Christmas to your family. De and Bill Hale
Beautiful! Thanks for making this available.
I am a descendant of William Denney: William Billy Denney killed in Civil War in Carroll Co., Arkansas; Malachi Denney married to Rebecca Fults; their daughter, Martha is my grandmother. She was married to Isaiah Jay from Iowa. Their daughter, Pearl, is my mother. She married Joe Berry Hobbs and here I am, Frances Lois Hobbs Strickland.
Your home is beautiful! Lots of labor with love. We watch Home and Garden all the time. We hope to catch your home on the show this year. Love to all and remember the "Christ" in Christmas!!
Duwayne and Ivalou Womack Hi Pam and Dick.
Leslie really enjoyed stopping by your house the other night and Leslie would like to see you Pam at your house if you got the time. I am filling in for you at work, Pam, so whatever you need to do, let me know I can fill in for you.
Your friend always
Heather, Leslie I have never seen such a beautiful setting and display. You should be very proud of it. I'm sending it on to all my email friends to enjoy.
God Bless You. Beautiful. Come to Texas and help us make our home as beautiful as yours.
Thanks for sharing your Christmas beauty with us as we all give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for making this holiday season so wonderful. May the Lord God fill your hearts with Christian joy as we celebrate His birth.
From the first day I can remember setting up Christmas lights in our old home on Pass Ave. to the present home, there is nothing but exciting memories surrounding each and every Christmas. Whether there was a tragic loss of a loved one,
a severe illness, or a new family member joining into the family, the Christmas Display was always up and going. I remember being so little that all
I could do was stand next to my dad holding light bulbs, bolts or nuts. I was so excited to be apart of a family filled with the joy of Christmas.
And this year, 2003, is, I must say, the best year yet. At 35 years old, being able to stand outside in the evening cool air across the street with my dad, together, looking back at all those years of our families hard work,
seeing the smiles on the faces of strangers is worth more then gold. Dad, thank you for never allowing our dream as a family, building the most
beautiful Christmas Display ever, to stop. You've done, we've done, the family
has left a mark - a legend of Joy and Happiness in the City of Burbank. Without Mom always bringing the "boys" cokes and hot cocoa in between her painting, hanging lights and so much more, the story of the Winter Wonderland just wouldn't be the same.
Norton's Winter Wonderland
is a place to find a smiling face
- a place to see the reindeer race
over snow- covered ground
with candy lollypops popping up from the ground - a scene with a real working train
- a site sure to impress upon your brain with
Flying Swings and a Ferris Wheel Too! And the new Hammer and Nemo swimming in the old big blue!
But, most all in all that you'll see,
is the love, joy and hard work stemming from one
simple loving Norton family!
Merry Christmas!
Thank You,
Mom & Dad! Love, David "Keep up the good work" I was by your home last night with my daughter (age 5). She was so impressed with all of the lights and moving things. She kept trying to get into the yard to ride on the merry go round. Thank you so much for doing this for all of us at Christmas. I hope you can continue your displays for years to come. God Bless you and your family.
I came across your site while looking for Christmas Displays online. It is just wonderful. Here if we tried to do something like that, it would be covered in snow. I hope that some day we can see it in person. Have a great Christmas. Mary
Ans: We hope you can see it in person, Mary. The
pictures do not do it justice. Have a great Christmas as well! We hope that each of you receives the joy of Christ in your life this
Christmas Season as we have for over 35 years. Tell someone you love them this
Christmas, and bring them by the display to fill their heart with joy and
laughter, and to just say hello. We would love to meet you! God Bless each of you! Remember this, that your life is important to God and
to the Norton Family! This is why we go to so much trouble each and every year,
because we love Jesus and we love all of YOU! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Love, David and Lisa Norton Tom, I am so glad to see you have come to your senses. You were beginning to scare me there with your negative attitude this season. God Bless you,
Honey, for seeing the beauty in this beautiful display of the true meaning of
Christmas. I love you for loving me. P.S. Will you take me out to dinner and a tour of this spectacular Christmas
display? Norton Family - you have done a spectacular job once again! Ans: OK - who REALLY is
this? We have parents in Glendale and for years we have taken them by your display every holiday season. It has become a family tradition for us. We are looking forward to seeing the display this year. Thank you for bringing joy to so many. Merry Christmas. The Brooks Family.
Ans: Thank you for sharing this with us. Our
family wishes yours a Very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year in 2004. XOXO THE GRINCH
Thanks for your comments, Grinch! We'll do our
best to keep putting on the display annually as long as our health allows us to,
and until the electric rates (which are rising here in Burbank in 2004) force us
to stop it or cut it back significantly. I TRULY LOVE YOUR CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS. I KNOW IT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD TO SEE THE LEAST FORTUNATE
SMILE BIG WHEN THEY SEE YOUR DISPLAY. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS. P.S. COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHERE TO GET OR HOW TO MAKE THE
TRAIN SET. Ans: Thanks, Scott! The train was built by me
almost 30 years ago (one of our first pieces of the display). It is
constructed of 3/8 exterior plywood. The boiler is made of aluminum (I had
a neighbor who worked for a trailer manufacturer make it to my specs). The
motor that drives the wheels is a Molon gear motor. Bicycle sprockets are
attached to pulleys on the two drive axles for the main wheels. A
bicycle chain connects the two sprockets to the gear on the motor. A smoke
machine (like you see used in Halloween displays) provides the smoke for the
engine. Ans: Thank you, Dustin, for your compliments!
The snow is a polyester material-bought at a local swap meet in huge rolls (4
foot width and about 50 feet long). Ans: Thanks, Jack, for the nice comments. I am
impressed with your commitment for 43 years in fund raising for Christmas
Village. I'll have to try and find some pictures of it on the net. Dick,
I don't believe that we had an opportunity to talk while working for Minarik Corporation, but I've heard some great things about you and your work. I wanted to just say "Hello" and "Farewell". I wish you and your family Health and Happiness.
God Bless Ans: Thank you, Blanca, for your kind words and
well-wishes. I wish the best to you, Mike and the rest of the great staff
in San Diego. If you are ever up in the area over the holidays, I hope you can
visit the display in person. Great Display
I would like to know how you ended up building your Ferris wheel. Any pictures you could send would be great Thank You.
Marc Ans: Marc, the rotating portion of the Ferris wheel is
constructed of 1/2 inch EMT. EMT is relatively light weight and strong.
I use a Bodine right-angle gear motor (1/70 HP) to spin the wheel. The
power transfer for the rotating lights is my own invention and I am considering
its qualification for a patent. Ans: Thanks for your comments, Ed. We used to
enter the contest, but then we stopped after 1999 to give other pretty homes in
Burbank an opportunity for recognition. We may enter again in the future,
but not likely in 2003. Best of luck with your display in the competition
next holiday season! Thank you for the beautiful music. I down loaded them and shared them with my kids, thanks a lot. Would like to wish you and your family Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Ans: Thanks, Edmund. We
always look forward to seeing you, Eileen and the kids over the holidays.
Merry Christmas to your family from ours! Ans: Just watch for the glow in the sky and you know
you are getting close!! There is a map on the website that will help you find
it. We took my 92 year old mother out last night to see some lights. Since you and your neighbor were featured in the Daily News, we came to take a look! Wow, we were impressed with both displays, and Mom was thrilled! Thanks for your efforts; know that you are appreciated by many. What this world needs is more fantasy and whimsy--it creates smiles!
What do you do when it rains? You are a very talented young man and you made us feel really wonderful. I brought my grand
daughter to see your wonderful house, she is eight years old and you really mad her night!!!
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family and your awesome house.
What do you want to do for a living?
Thank you for sharing.
Erin Fiske (Grandaughter) Ans: Hi Erin! When it
rains, we can't run the display because of the amount of electricity it
consumes. We cover the train, and some of the other objects as well to
stop them from warping. When I am not working on the
display, I do tax audit and collection representation for clients.
I was showing everybody at my work what your house looks like during Christmas...they love it...I moved out of Burbank and work in Rancho Cucamonga now...it looks wonderful this year as in every year...
Ans: Thanks, Warren!
Merry Christmas! I went to see your house last night and took my 2 year old daughter. She was
amazed at all the lights. She was very happy and so was I to see her smile and yell out to everyone,
Merry Christmas. Thanks for bringing joy and the holiday spirit to my little one. Hope to see it next year.
Vicki Ans: Thanks for the great
feedback, Vicki! We plan on doing the display in 2004, but do not know
beyond that. This is a lot of work and expense! But, comments like
yours are what has motivated us to do this display each year!
Hi Dick,
This is fantastic! You'd better watch out, If you continue to out-do the North Pole, Santa just might set up shop at your house!
Wishing you and your family the warmest and happiest of holidays!
Sharon Doolittle and family. Wow...what a display!! I'm impressed it only took a month to put it together...Great Job...
Merry Christmas! Hi guys, I really admire your strength to do all this stuff - my parents are struggling with putting up one small thing outside here.
Talk to you later
-god bless
Siggi. Ans: Wow - you wrote this
all the way from Iceland! We live in good times where you and your family
- almost 1/2 around the world, are able to see and enjoy the display.
Merry Christmas to you and the family, Siggi! Love your display! Thanks to your web site, we now know when you open. We have driven bye 3X.
Our girls are very excited to see your lights "the house with the Ferris wheel and merry-go-round". Thank you for the beautiful display.
It makes the season sparkle in many ways. :) Great Job Dick. You have come a long way since painted tumble weeds. I hope I can see your display when I come into town for Christmas.
Sam Ans: Hi Sam! How
great to hear from you! Wow - it has been decades since we lived on the same
street when we were in high school in Eagle Rock, CA!! We need to keep in
better touch. Please stop by when you are in the area! Merry
Christmas! I really like the music and the videos. I hope to be able to come to California some time over Christmas to see it in person.

Hi,
I'm a Denney descendantx2.
Lovely decorations but the Reason for the Season kind of looks like it got covered up with all the merry making.
Big and Bright should be the star of Bethlehem
That shown over the stable that wonderous night.
God's gift to all the world
Came in a simple form
Quiet Stable, Lowly Birth
Behold the Miracle
Jesus was born
